Identifying your outbound bluetooth serial com port
Filed under Uncategorized
Identifying your outgoing bluetooth serial com port is very important when using a pocket pc pda and is usually the first step in ensuring a smooth connection with your bluetooth gps receiver especially when using tomtom navigation software. It is very easy and the steps are shown below
1. Go to the home screen and tap on the bluetooth icon on the bottom right of the screen, a pop menu should appear, then select the “Bluetooth setting” tab as shown below. On the screen that appears select the services tab.

2. Highlight the “Serial Port” then tap the advanced tab as shown below. Finally on the last screen you can see the outbound Com port number, take a note of this, on the pda below it is 6. And that is all there is to it, you need this number to connect with tomtom on your bluetooth pocketpc pda.
